Mrs Ashton invited our Musical Theatre group to perform in the ‘Stars Concert’ at King’s Hall, Ilkley. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the children’s talents in a professional theatre, along with other schools from the Wharfe Valley. Their performance was polished and powerful, they certainly were shining stars!
What a night! Rehearsals have been running for 7 weeks, the children were incredible and their efforts and talent were recognised by the judges. Our Musical Theatre group won 1st place and were awarded the ‘outstanding’ grade, which is the highest grade achievable. Next, we had our Choral Speaking group, with ‘Gran Can You Rap?’ They were also awarded 1st place and the special ‘Co-operative’ trophy, recognising their collaborative effort. Finally, we had Megan and Caitlin, who performed in the Duologue class with their extract from Alice in Wonderland. This category was for children in Year 11 and under. So the girls were up against secondary school children, but performed with confidence and clarity. They won 3rd place and received individual medals. Super proud of everyone that took part!
